Bodypaint Fun

I recently attended the brilliant Paradise Jam brilliantly organised by the brilliant Juliet Eve of Facade fame – it was all brilliant!!  This is one of the biggest face and body painting jams in the country with well over 100 artists in attendance from all over the UK and some flying in from other parts of the world. It takes place at the Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire, so between painting, you can go into the zoo to see wild animals – unique, I reckon!… This is the second year I’ve attended  – last year I was too nervous to paint in front of all the awe-inspiring talent – but this year I worked with Heather Sharp on a black & white, Garden of Eden inspired body paint. Followed by a photo shoot involving a snake ‘borrowed’ from the zoo! :-)

Pucker up, Princess

Quick little body painting I did to practise shadows and highlights. The juxtapositioning of the ‘Princess-style’ lips and the horror fangs amused me! xx

Stuff wot I paint on my arm! :-)

Don’t often have time to take photos of my face painting and body art work at events, but I often practise techniques and designs, or just doodles, at home on my arm for fun. It’s a good way to come up with new face painting ideas, which I can then develop into full face and body art designs. Here’s a couple I’ve done recently :-)

Pregnant Belly Painting

Ok, so it’s not exactly a pregnant belly and this could only loosely be classed as bump art, but here’s a couple of body painting designs which could easily be adapted into a beautiful pregnant belly painting…

Solstice 4MO

I recently face painted at Solstice 4MO  – a fundraising festival deep in the Sussex countryside for Mo Bourner, a 15 year old boy who was attacked in Bexhill last year. The attack left him with devastating, life changing injuries and his family are raising funds to buy the specialist equipment he now requires and to provide for his future needs. You can read more about Mo and make a donation here.

I felt honoured and privileged to be a part of the festival, to feel the love all around and to be able to help in a small way raising money by face painting the festival-goers. Here are a few pictures of some of the beautiful painted faces.
